Founded in 2014, the brand name ‘Twenty Grammes’ originated from our journey for creating the perfect waffle.
We experimented with countless traditional recipes from renowned pastry chefs, each claiming theirs to be the best. The waffles we created were good (crispy, fluffy & thick), yet something elusive was still missing. Then, one late night in the kitchen, a serendipitous error occurred. Exhausted eyes misread a '3' as a '2', and we unknowingly added 20 grams of butter instead of the prescribed 30 grams to a recipe from a world-renowned pastry chef. The result was astonishing. Our waffle was lighter, yet it achieved the rich, luscious flavour we were seeking. This delightful surprise was not merely a mistake but a turning point that revealed the 'perfect' recipe we had longed for.
This inspired confidence in us to boldly venture into trying recipes for cakes and pastries. And we kept creating and baking because we fell in love with this experimental process.
